Hill York, Florida’s leading commercial air conditioning services and energy solutions company, announced today that its employees gave more than 500 hours of volunteer service to charitable causes in their communities during the first three quarters of 2014.
Coming months ahead of schedule, the milestone improves on the full-year pledge of “Hill York Helps: Comforting Those In Need,” an outreach campaign that engaged employees in four offices throughout Florida in a companywide effort to encourage volunteerism. Hill York is pledging to double its goal in 2015, aiming to surpass 1,000 volunteer service hours.
“Topping our 500 volunteer hours goal well before the end of the year is a powerful demonstration of how Hill Yorkers love to make life more comfortable for a wide range of people,” said CEO Robert “Chip” Lafferty. “Helping others in our communities is in our hearts and at the core of our culture – it’s how we turn our compassion into action as The Comfort Champions.”
While Hill York has a long history of participating in community service activities, the company undertook a formal initiative earlier this year to expand on efforts already in place and assist employees who wanted to find events and organizations that best suited their interests and abilities. Examples of volunteer work by Hill Yorkers include charity races and walks, preparing meals at food pantries, participating in golf and ishing tournaments, scholarship fundraisers, visiting children in hospitals, and building homes for the underprivileged. They donated time and money to a diverse group of charitable organizations, including
4KIDS of South Florida, Freedom Riders Academy, Goodwill, Habitat For Humanity, the H.E.L.O. Foundation, His Caring Place, Hope Women’s Centers, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Sheridan House, and Wounded Warriors.
A full-service commercial air conditioning company, Hill York provides system maintenance, service, repairs, energy solutions and installation for a wide range of heating, cooling and ventilation systems. Founded in 1936, the company serves the state of Florida.
