High rise complexes have air conditioning needs unlike any other building. These buildings have unique challenges. As most people know, hot air rises and cool air remains close to the ground. This makes finding and utilizing the perfect HVAC system for a high rise complex incredibly challenging. Many high rise complexes are not equipped with the proper air conditioning unit. This is generally due to poor planning or lack of knowledge of what type of system should be installed. As a result, the need for maintenance and the frequency of unexpected repairs dramatically increases. Therefore, it is imperative that the proper system be installed.

Building ventilation is a strange beast. Each building's ventilation needs vary widely from one building to the next, making this one of the most challenging aspects of managing a building's HVAC system. Though there are a variety of schools of thought surrounding the best strategy to implement when considering the ventilation system for a building, most experts agree that the single most important factor is the amount of traffic that the building is expected to endure. Commercial buildings tend to have the hardest time with this estimation because their traffic varies so widely from month to month throughout the year. Unlike any other estimation dealing with air conditioning systems and ventilation, traffic of commercial buildings should be overestimated as opposed to underestimated. This ensures that the ventilation system will be able to handle the traffic of the building.

Air Conditioning for Florida Buildings

Buildings in Florida have unique air conditioning needs. An A/C unit in most parts of the country will only be in use an average of three to four months out of the year. However, air conditioning units in Florida are typically used for six to eight months out of the year. This additional usage of the A/C unit adds immensely to the wear and tear. Therefore, it is essential that buildings in Florida have their regular routine maintenance performed twice as frequently on their air conditioning systems than A/C units in other states.
