One of the worst experiences that one can endure during the heat of the summer is to be without air conditioning. Everyone has experienced it at least once. Usually, luck has it that you wake up in the middle of the night in the middle of July. The temperature inside is well over 80 degrees and it's not much cooler outside. You seriously consider grabbing a pillow and spending the night on the kitchen floor because the kitchen floor is the coolest part of the house. When you consider how badly your back would be aching in the morning, you consider rounding up the family and spending the night in a hotel, only to realize that won't work either because the kids have to take the bus to school in the morning. Frustrated, you change out of your pajamas that are soaked in sweat and put on a new pair. You climb back into bed, look over at the clock, and realize that you only have four hours until it's time to wake up. You try to get some quality sleep in the smoldering heat.
