Value Delivered

When the chiller failed at a premier class “A” office space in downtown Miami, Hill York sprang into action to get the building’s cooling system up and running again.

First, we provided a short-term emergency solution, working rapidly to restore operations during the busy Christmas season. With the temporary chiller in place, we then turned our focus to designing and installing a long-term replacement.

Thanks to our strong vendor relationships, we were able to identify a readily available chiller even amid a serious supply chain disruption. The completed retrofit helped significantly increase the client’s energy efficiency, lowering their costs by an estimated $40,000 a year, while also helping improve the overall air quality of the building.

Client Objectives

To help ensure tenant comfort, the client required an immediate response to their chiller failure. When their existing service provider was unable to provide a solution, they turned to Hill York.

Solutions

Along with the temporary chiller solution, we provided complete design-build and installation services for the permanent replacement, including:
•    Two 155-ton magnetic bearing chillers
•    Resurfacing for mechanical room floors and walls.
•    Brand new variable frequency drives
•    Three-way control valve for cooling tower operation

As a result of our quick action and high-quality work, the client signed a full service agreement with Hill York.
